Pretty slick deal for a 4060. Pop an SSD in the expansion slot and this should be a budget gaming monster.

If you can easily pay $600 more then why even ask this question?

Memory isn't soldered, which was a big concern of mine.

Supports up to 32GB (2 x 8 GB) SO-DIMM DDR5-5600

My mouse was hovering over the "place order" button earlier, but ultimately didn't (for better or worse). I'm gonna see what's available during the 10th and 11th Prime Days, and if nothing stands out, just wait till Black Friday. 🤔

Ordered it earlier today without much thought given it has almost everything I've been looking for. Figured I'd return if something better comes along. After further consideration the only concern is the screen. I'm also a little worried the listing might be off as I'm not seeing the Ryzen 5 paired with the 4060 anywhere else. It's 4050 on Lenovo's own site. I guess we will see.

Anyone know how many watts this thing needs to charge via USB-C? My Dell monitor only does 65 watts.

Thoughts about this laptop as a substitution? (As the one in this thread seems sold out or unavailable for most)

Open Box - Excellent available for shipping $570.99

Honestly, if you don't mind the hiccups with amd gpus then that's a good deal even at the new price.

Ordinarily there is a 15-20% difference between each tier... 4050 to 4060 to 4070. But this 4060 isn't far off a 4050... since it only runs 60W in games.

https://www.notebookcheck.net/Len...html#toc-5

"Gaming Performance

Performance when running games at 1080p is only slightly faster than the RTX 4050 by 5 to 10 percent in most titles. When running Cyberpunk 2077, Final Fantasy XV, or Tiny Tina's Wonderlands, for example, our Legion Slim 5 would just barely edge out the cheaper LOQ 15 with half the RAM. The performance advantage would grow in our favor if running on lower resolutions and settings, but most gamers will be aiming for 1080p or higher. The Legion Pro 5 16 with the same RTX 4060 would outperform our Legion Slim 5 by up to 25 percent in some cases as shown by our comparison charts below."
There was a problem with that review sample Notebookcheck received, for some reason the gpu was limited to 60w. Not sure if it was due to it running a pre-release bios or something but Jarod's tech did a review on this laptop albeit with the higher tier Ryzen 7 processor and he never encountered the low wattage limit https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FwUoLbMhiWk. I also have this exact same laptop which I bought from bestbuy and have seen the gpu hit 100w+ (topped out at 110w during a stress test). Side note, the 4060 in this laptop overclocks really well or at least the one I have. I'm able to push the core up by 260mhz and the memory by 1300mhz.

2 questions...

Is this actually a 4060 and not a 4050 as others have discussed? Also, do "Open Box" items come with any sort of warranty? Would my Chase card provide an extended warranty, ya think? Thanks.

I don't know about any "hiccups" (really?), but this thing is THICC and no backlit keyboard.

What are you on about?

Product Height - 0.87 inches
Backlit Keyboard - Yes

Meanwhile this "slim" Lenovo:

Product Height - 0.99 inches
