Also, is the 512 GB SSD enough for gaming? Many games these days are 100 GB in size and it seems 512 GB wouldn't be enough to hold a regular amount of games.

So you must upgrade the storage. I got 2TB 990 pro since 4TB was out of stock when I was looking.
Also, since you'll be already opening up the laptop, I'd recommend to add RAM to make total of 48GB. RAM is cheap...
14 inch is perfect for gaming when you travel.
Last year I ordered the g14 6800s model from eBay Best Buy. Tried to return it in store and they said I have to ship it back for returns. That was my experience at the local Best Buy.
Also advise getting a laptop cooler but that's for all gaming laptops.
It's unfortunate but a small sample. I've used asus laptops in the past and have had no issues.
How is this latest gen with 4060? Hear mixed messages. Some day it runs hot... Is battery life just as good? How about fan noise? Reliability?

I have both & the 4060 model runs cooler/quieter for the most part. Get the latest gen if you can… I do recommend saving to upgrade the internal drive tho
This laptop comes with two slot RAM, one is occupied with 16GB (soldered on motherboard), so I we got additional 16GB DDR5 RAM (matching specs what's already in), that way, it is 16X16 dual memory configuration. Reviewed several posts about RAM configuration and all saying 16 x 24, 16 x 48, no improvement. so, if you want to upgrade RAM, you just need to opt for 16GB one.
Unfortunately, it comes with 512GB SSD (a step back from older version), but we haven't upgrade that, we will see how fast she will fill out - I am sure will be filled out pretty fast...!
one thing we realized, when we first time boot the laptop, she told me why my hard disk showing 340GB total disk, when I checked disk manager, I found that there was 90+gb unallocated disk space, I fixed that (extended the partition) - that was totally weird.
so far, she loves her laptop! I am also pretty impressed how compact and portable it is for a gaming laptop and pretty good price too if you ask me (and if you are tight budget like us).
I've ordered 5 of them. 4 were perfect and one had a small issue with the touchpad. I'd say save the money and go open-box.
I need to stress the GPU for coil whine, but if that's no issue it seems like a solid laptop for the price. Really like the screen and the keyboard is comfortable. Don't care for the mid-body power connector, but I can live with it.
