Got mine when they first released back in Late summer of 2020 when Chervon (Ego and Flex as well) bought the Skil name, reworked the line and re-released.

Still runs great and still happy with my decision on in. I really like the foldable legs for storage and transport.
Is this considered a good deal? If you are a regular at Menards you can currently get 32.89 back as a merchandise rebate in place of this deal and use it to buy a better blade.
Amazon has this for $299 but is offering a $50 promotional credit on this same saw:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08F9RFJ2K

If you plan on using the credit, it's roughly $15 cheaper, since you're paying tax on the $299. Just another option for those with Amazon credit or gift cards.

Brand new Ryobi table saws are not good. The fences are wobbly, pain to keep straight, can cause binding and put you in dangerous situations. I also don't trust the bevel angle indications.

I bought this saw a couple years ago for $299 and it's awesome. Easily just as good as the legendary Dewalt job site saw for first time table saw owners. The riving knife isn't* removable (like the Dewalt) but that's never been an issue as it does slide down out of the way when using a dado. I'm 6' 3" and the built-in stand is short for me. I'd totally buy this saw again and recommend it to anyone for a first table saw. Skil isn't a cheap brand anymore. They're certainly disrupting the budget market with some of their tools.

*Edit: this must be an updated version as the riving knife is removable. Mine might be an earlier version with a non removable riving knife.

This saw is noted as being one of the better saws out there for the money, better than Ryobi.

The riving knife is definitely removable, you are supposed to remove it when using a dado stack.

I had mine for almost 3 months in the box up until a few days ago for that exact reason long return period. Opened it up for a project and no complaints. I researched table saws allot before ordering within this price range. It provides everything you need to do compared to ones in the $500-600 dollar range.

It's a jack of all trades 1) 10" blade 2) Legs - also foldable 3) All Metal 4) Portable 5) Dado Blades 6) Large cutting capacity 7) Solid Price

They must have updated it then. As I have this model and the riving knife is 100% not removable. It was a con for many YouTubers reviewing it, and the manual says to adjust the riving knife to its lowest position when using a dado. It could be modified to be removable but I haven't really found a need to do that yet.

Yeah, I got one of these a few months ago. The riving knife definitely comes out, and you can swap in the full blade guard kit which connects into the same slot after you pull out the riving knife.

Also from what I understand these originally had a plastic throat plate, later updated to a metal one. (The one I have is metal.)

Yeah, I chatted with Walmart. They do not issue a credit for the difference. So I just returned it and re-purchased. Again, mine was two weeks old, not opened, full refund on the way to my cc. But saving $30 makes me feel a whole lot better about that $35 10" Diablo 50-teeth blade I purchased last week... now without a home, temporarily, haha. Thanks for the post @hqz!!!

Got this saw a few months ago at a lower price from a local store when everyone online was out of stock. It's excellent. My wife used it to build a Murphy Bed with shelves.

Ah, yeah mine is plastic and prone to warping but I haven't had that happen to mine and I've owned it about 2 years.

That's cool they updated it and didn't raise the price. It was $299 back the too.

My throat plate is metal too so I must have the newer revision, I never use it. The gaps between it and the blade are way too large, so I just use a wooden zero clearance insert I made, and a wooden tighter clearance insert for angle cuts.

I tapped some steel screws into the ledges the factory insert rests on, so I could adjust for flushness with the table, and also use as points for the magnets in my wooden inserts to hold onto. Also have a screw threaded into the end of the wooden inserts to ensure they can't lift up.
