The 2022 has a bios update to USB4.

Edit: https://www.asus.com/support/faq/1049059/ I get that it is in beta, but yes, it does in fact have a BIOS update to support USB4.

Differences:

- 4060 trades blows with the 6800s, in some games, esp at high frame rates, the 6800s is faster, in most games, the 4060 is faster by up to 15%, normally under 10%
- DLSS 3.0 is a big deal. Frame gen makes a big difference in high res single player games at very high settings.
- the 2023 is quieter and cooler by a small amount.
-165Hz display on this vs 120 on the 22.
- this one has 512GB storage, the 22 has 1Tb.
- the CPU is up to 20% faster than 22, I would bet you couldn't tell in normal use and few games will be CPU limited here.

Honestly, to most, I don't think this is worth it unless 4k gaming or RTX are critical to you

Edit: informs raw facts, someone who woke up on the wrong side of the bed is mad and downvotes it. lol

I'm in the same boat. The 2023 model here will have better performance, probably around 10-20% for both cpu and gpu, at the expense of more power and noise. I thought the 2023 is suppose to have a higher res webcam as well, but the description says only 720p.

I'm leaning towards the $700 2022 model for now, it doesn't seem like the upgrades are worth $300 more.

Edit: as others have pointed out. This does have a 1080p webcam, but website description is wrong.

Open box near me comes out to $860 after tax (about $100 more than the 2022 from Asus) 👍
Thanks for mentioning this.. I had 2022 G14 ordered from the recent deal.. my heart really wanted a 4060, and $120 more is a stretch for me, but def worth it. I just picked it up from local BB!

If anyone Bay Area wants to take over my order PM. Otherwise I'll refuse the package.

How is this compared to the Asus Zephyrus M16? I ordered it online yesterday for $1300 open box excellent condition.
Looks like BBY increased the price now.

https://www.bestbuy.com/site/asus...Id=6535501

It is Intel 9 with 16GB upgradeable to 64GB & 2 M.2 slots - 16" 240Hz monitor.

The M16 is a different class.
More expandable but also much larger....

Bought this on BF for $1099. Don't regret it at all. I'm coming from the surface line.

Got this earlier this month or sometime in February with open box Excellent deal for $840 + tax. I also added 16 GB ram and currently waiting for a reasonable SSD deal.

I have no complaints. Runs my games (mainly PUBG and Civ 6) really well with full resolution and every setting to ultra even at balanced and standard settings.

use G-Helper and uninstall some ASUS software that control the GPU and CPU. It is much better.

720p web camera but does have Hello support.

EDIT: I was wrong. The 2023 G14 does have a 1080p IR webcam. 2022 one has 720p. Best Buy website is wrong.

I grabbed this and have been waiting for Best Buy to bring it back on sale, but I have a 2nd order that went through for the Asus at $700. (first one was cancelled and I'm afraid they will cancel the 2nd)
How would you all compare these two?
I would take this over the 2022 model all day. DLSS + AMD laptop GPUs run hot

No, ASUS warranty support is terrible and you never want to have to deal with them. Get an open box model and forget the warrant exists or get a third party warranty like geek squad. Anything involving sending your laptop to ASUS for repairs will be a nightmare.

Biggest issue with this is it only has one NVME slot and just comes with a 512GB ssd. So you'll need to replace it if you actually intend to play modern games and want more than 2-3 installed at a time.

Asus does not offer extended warranty for Best Buy items. You have to get third party. Also worth noting that open box disqualifies you from extended credit card warranties since it's a used item.

Face unlock is pretty quick, and you can train it for different looks.

I have this laptop, and run it on silent mode, on battery with -40mv UV. It doesn't make noise and stays cool for regular usage. You can disable the dGPU on battery, because it's not needed.
What kind of battery life are you seeing?
