It's not $750. It's $900 w/ a $150 gift card. There's a difference.
Y'all acting like this laptop is paperweight just because it's 3 years old. Name a $700 Windows laptop that can match this in build quality and battery life...

This M1 MacBook Air will last her quite well through college and probably a couple years beyond. At that point you (or she) can trade it for a newer model if she needs it. One thing that sets it apart is its weight, size and LONG battery life (easily all day!) I sent my daughter to college with a new MacBook Pro and even though the Pro had better computing power she constantly complained about the weight carrying it around to her classes (even though it was only a pound more than the MacBook Air). Anyway long story short, after her first year at college I took over her MacBook Pro and bought her a MacBook Air which she loved and carried everywhere for the next 6-7 years until she got a new M2 MacBook Pro this past Christmas
This MacBook only gets updates for 3 more years most likely. Apple usually only gives 7 years.
Get her a windows laptop. She will appreciate the side to side feature.
That's one thing i hate when using my mac. No side to side feature when working with different programs you will normally use.
And when it is available, it is weird and only on certain "apps".
I use a Mac for work and have two things open at once and adjust their size so I can see both, not sure if this is what you mean.

Who cares, I stay away from updates anyway. Sometimes they suck, and drain batteries, and they're buggy. Usually wait for others to chime in before I even consider

If you had a crypto wallet with 100k in it would you want something with security updates and modern security or just chance it? There's your answer.
i've used it for video editing, visual studio, tons of tabs, android emulation...it works without stutter..the 8gb argument is 100% fake news and comes from a lack of understanding that the swap architecture is completely different from intel type chips.
The swap functions exactly the same as it does with Intel.

Unclear that will be an issue.
My 2013 MBA is still very usable and received the "newest" updates through year 8, and still receives security/basic updates, and that was with a silicon switch from Intel to Apple.
As M3 and M1 are very similar, it wouldn't be unrealistic to think that updates for M1 could continue longer than another 3-5 years, and security updates for quite a bit longer than that.
Hi, I'm French and I'm going on vacation for 3 weeks to visit Florida from May 05.
Will the offer still be valid?
For info I know about the warranty and the Qwerty keyboard that I already use on my devices.

Mo money, mo problem , good thing I don't have 100k. People who have 100k don't buy $699 laptop.
Not true at all. They just wouldn't buy this one with a known security flaw.
