You have to walk your way there.

I have an item shows 18 count at 1 Walmart.
Went straight to the employee ask to scan the item using their device. It shows 18 but he couldn't find it. He asked dept manager, dept manager said they never carry that item, that the inventory is wrong.
I thanked them and walk away. I walked through 1/2 of the store. Bingo, its there. Found all 18 of them that they claim they don't have it or not carry them. I bought 16 in 8 transactions (max 2 per transaction). left 2 for other lucky guy. If no one finds it, store still be able to show price for quite some times for purpose of DPP for others across the country.

Point is, you can get help from employees, if they can't help you, you have to do your own.

These deals are YMMV, don't expect you walk to the store and employees are ready to hand you the item.

Can't emphasis this enough... I was telling my dad the other day there are three categories of Walmart's

1. Where the employees are in on the deals
2. Where the employees don't know about the some of the deals
3. Where the employees don't really care about the deals

In the first category, I find that the employees know if the deals and buy the items or hold the items before you even get to the store.

- I was buying something and it rang up a lot lower than the sticker price. The cashier says that it's an error and the box is labeled incorrectly and he can't sell me the item. He says he's going to set it aside for the manager to review.

In the second category, employees are willing to help you because they don't know if a specific item is on sale. A good example is from yesterday,

- I see the OnHub AC1900 at a Walmart. Brickseek shows two in stock at $49 dollars. Walmart app also shows them at $49.99.
- I walk into the electronics section at the store and find one of the two routers. It is marked $190.99 on clearance with a big yellow sticker.
- I go to check out in the electronic section and ask her first to check the price (my mistake). She makes a remark that it should be the price on the box. She scans the box and her face drops when it says $49.99. I pay for the router and she is asking me questions if it's a good deal or not.
- As I walk away she tells me that she's going to look for it as well. I walk over to the Pickup section and she's scanning the aisles for the other router.
- When I get home, Brickseek shows zero quantity of the router.

In the third category, I was buying the Weber Grill from a couple weeks ago:

I order the grill online for instore pick up
I get to the store and it does the automatic adjustment
I find out that the store actually has a damaged grill. I remember that weber has a fantastic warranty.
I get the manager to knock 200 more off the price of the grill. I got the E-310 for $199 and ordered a new damaged part for free.

Often you have to know where the deals are hidden too.. Some Walmarts have dedicated clearance aisles. Some of them have clearance for electronics in the end caps. Some of them have clearance items in checkout lane 12. Some of them are in the lawn and garden section. It all depends...

(this is inside info) The district inventory managers are rolling out a new way to doing things now, they are making all the stores put the clearance items in the aisles and on the endcaps. There should be no items in the back.

I doubt that'll be followed strictly by every store. What I wish would happen is that corporate sets the prices universally across the entire chain like Kmart and Sears used to.

That way if you found X or Y item on the shelves it would be the same damn price across the whole country whether you went to a store in California or New Jersey. That way then we would have none of this super ultra hyper YMMV bullshit to have to put up with where stores miles apart will have price differences of 50-200% between them.

Of course if it were left up to corpoate again, we'd probably go back to them considering $.03 off MSRP as 'clearance pricing' again. Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)

I haven't had any issues with different prices across stores. Every item I've chased has been the same price at every local store. My problem has been the item I'm after is never in stock in any store, even if BS shows stock.

Employees there are the least helpful among all stores in the area. Hate them so much. Every time you ask for something, they just say no. We don't have it, we don't carry it.

Would love to buy this for a loved one, can someone be so kind and disclose which zipcode currently has this for $99. There was one I found on brickseek, but when you search the store directly to take screenshot, it shows none in stock and doesn't even come up in their inventory. Looking for the $99 price. Thanks!
