Might have to spend more on a motherboard and ddr5 ram though.
Look at cost of adoption and for many people who are already on the AM4 platform and don't have to buy a new motherboard.
I don't want or need a new Intel platform. I upgraded my AM4 build to 16 cores with no added cost or regrets. I can live with a 9% speed penalty. Finally, I enjoy rewarding AMD for injecting competition into a stagnant market.

If that combination above is compatible as it says. What is the best cooler? I have 100i and the x53, would that be good enough. Also, I have a Phanteks Enthoo Pro PH-ES614P_BK, should be enough room for bigger coolers.

This price is nice budget threadripper. I managed to get a cpu that that can get to 5.1 ghz single thread with the right cooling of course.

What cooling did you use?

Intel's 12th Gen Needs windows 11 to use all the cores properly, which is a useless pile of horrible anti-consumer ideas that Microsoft is shoving down our throats. Soon you won't even be able to Install Windows 11 without an internet connection and a Microsoft account. Screw Microsoft's latest BS and screw Intel for not supporting Windows 10.

All of AMD Ryzens so far work perfectly with Windows 10.
I never once felt MS is "shoving down our throats" Windows 11. Where do you get off saying such BS? Windows 11 runs awesome for me. You sound like a boomer who wants to still run Windows XP.

Probably because every time you apply a system update and reboot your machine, it pops up and makes you "opt out" of the upgrade,

Even though I could've switched to Intel, I like AMD, and just bought an MSI MAG X570 Tomahawk, Ryzen 9 5900X, etc. etc.

I'm in a Corsair 4000D, using the two included fans as exhaust, and put a Corsair iCUE H150i RGB PRO XT (360mm AIO) in the front of the case, fans pushing.

Everything is ridiculously chilly. Even my Radeon 6700XT dropped 10° C from the old case (Fractal Meshify-C). The Ryzen 9 5900X is currently 40° C with light use. Haven't seen it higher than 52° but I haven't done any testing with really CPU intensive stuff so far.

But no one is forcing you or them to use Windows. If you dislike the product, use something else. There are several good alternatives out there, MacOS and Linux, or even ChromeOS.

Never said a thing about how it runs, you seem overly sensitive so let me congratulate you and reassure you that Windows 11 runs fine and you're a big boy for using it.

It doesn't offer any major advantage over 10 though, other than giving Microsoft a reason to force anti-Consumer behavior.

https://www.pcmag.com/news/instal...ft-account

There are reports of users of Windows 10 one day finding that their OS has been upgraded to 11 without their intervention, just like there were from 7 to 10. It also nags users to upgrade, sometimes even when upgrade isn't possible because of Windows 11 requirements for a hardware TPM module.

Microsoft is also starting to shove ads into more and more places in the OS, even into the file explorer, something they've walked back for now thanks to massive backlash. They're turning into a horrible, horrible company and things seem to be only getting worse.

So I'll happily keep buying Ryzens as long as they work properly with Windows 10, until Microsoft stops jerking consumers around with their draconian Windows 11 behavior.

Man, I fell for the benchmarks and upgraded my Ryzen 3900x to an i9 12900k and I totally regret it. Wish I had gone with this processor. I edit video and yes the i9 can cut through my h.264/h.265 better than ryzen in premiere, but not quite good enough that I won't create proxies. So the whole reason it crushes benchmarks doesn't really help me. And the lack of raw power that Ryzen provides is lacking so my overall workflow may be slower.

If you have waited this long, might as well wait till the end of the year. These will drop further when the new AMD CPUs are released. But if you are in "NEED" of one, I think the Newegg $550 is a better deal if it's still available. But then you'll have to deal with Newegg and that is another topic.

If you've waited this long, you might as well wait until the next generation which will be FOR SURE quicker! Yay!

Goodluck waiting until 2077.

You know I almost went for a 12700K, but was thinking they are tuned for benchmarks. There is no way that 20 thread (4 lower thread) chip should beat out a 5900x at 24 full threads. Since the 129000K is only a few % higher I'm calling BS on both of their dominance. I'm not dissing on the Intel, but I do think there is a lot more marketing to this release than actual silicon. While this may be a great setup for future improvements I don't want to pay the Intel early adopter tax and have to upgrade sockets again when they figure it out in a couple of years.

I actually went for a 5900x, but am thinking on returning it for a 5950x just because the price is so low. Do I need it? Not really, but it would be fun actually buying the best processor out for once and it would probably keep me to just GPU upgrades for many years.

One thing I'll have to disagree with. Microsoft isn't turning into a horrible company.

They are the original horrible company. Their lack of ethics is legendary to the point of having government look into them several times. What they did to Stacker and other small companies was barbaric. Most of their company was built by buying others.

They make some good tools though.

I know little to nothing about this but based on my research and of depending upon your needs I have found that either the Asus ROG Crosshair VIII Dark Hero ATX AM4 Motherboard or the GIGABYTE X570S AORUS Master (AMD/ X570S) will do this justice.

I am currently debating between the two.
