Productivity is very subjective. Old school .exes, you're better off with Windows, but if you're not living in the 90s, most things run in a browser these days.

People are asking why the discount on these Macbook pro. Yes, new Macbook pro will be announced later this year. But the rumor is it will be using a new 3nm M2 instead of the current 5nm M2 chip currently in the Macbook Air. If this hold true then the 3nm chip will have improved effiencey of 35% and 10% performance.

While there may be M2 Pro/Max announced in October, it will NOT be on the 3nm process. TSMC announced they are starting production of 3nm chips now. Will take several months for vaildation, testing, and to get yields up. Apple will need to do their own testing and validation. TSMC said they expect 3nm to start as a revenue stream in 2023. No chance we get 3nm M2 in October.

However, possible we get 5nm (current) M2 Pro/Max in October. If so, expect 20% CPU gain, plus more graphics cores. I would expect 3nm to be ready for Mac at earliest in March, but more likely June. I would bet it doesn't go to Pros first, but gets rolled out in lower models as a vanilla M3. Possibly making it to pro machines as M3 Pro/Max by mid/late next year. If no announcement in October, then possible it does go directly to Pros in March or June.

Yeah, deals on other models went live shortly after Midnight Pacific. This one is broken. Two hours later, still broken. Probably get sorted out tomorrow at this point.

Literally just bought an open box excellent 2 weeks ago for $1882 after tax. It went down once prior, but wasn't worth the return/buy for $75. But for $250, totally worth it. Picking up an open box excellent again, but this time for $1625 after tax. Winner!
