You do you bro. No need to come in the thread and explain yourself. Nobody buys a mac for gaming.

Productivity is very subjective. Old school .exes, you're better off with Windows, but if you're not living in the 90s, most things run in a browser these days.

To each his own. I greatly prefer the classic laptop format to a something with a touch screen.

If you want a touchscreen then get an iPad pro you neanderthal

It's ergonomically bad to use clamshell laptops as touchscreens; if anything there's plenty of apps to use phones as a touch input and not smudge the glossy screen

Anyone use this device for media consumption? The screen is great but there is no app for offline Netflix, hbommax, Amazon prime or the likes so you can't download shows for offline viewing. And trying to play mkv isn't kind to battery.

I have a late 2013 MBP. How big of a bump would this M1 be or should I wait for that 3nm M2 people are talking about?

The bump is huge. I am using a work provided macbook pro from 2017 with the i7 Intel processor and 16gb of RAM. I used my friend's base macbook air M1 and the difference in performance and battery is just ridiculous. M1 blows my work laptop out of the water.

Jaw dropping deal, This is the lowest price ever.. how come price of this model is slashing down that deep? I actually never thought this can go down beyond 1700 ever but This price 1600 makes it no brainer over macbook air M2.
New model in October I think

Jeez, fire sale!!! I just want to buy from Costco, so I can change my mind later without hassles. Arrrrgggg.... already 90 minutes past bedtime.
Can you elaborate on the perk(s) of buying from Costco? Haven't bought anything from them in a long time. Thanks

Thanks that's great to know. I have 8GB DDR3 of RAM and I heard in a prior 1 thread that the architecture changed so much from the Intel chips, 8GB is plenty fast and is equivalent to what 16GB are on an Intel.

Has that been your experience or would you agree with that?

Asking for recommendations
My daughter wants to buy it. Is it better for her to apply for a Costco Citi cc for added warranty?
How does the warranty work?
Is it on top of the normal warranty it already has?
Should she just buy from BB?
Also she has almost $100.00 gc from BB
Also she live in NJ so tax free weekend.

90day return window. So you have more time to reverse a regret buy.

Supposedly if you have the citi Costco credit card, you can get some extra warranty but I heard that's being phased out soon.

Also 2% back on Costco Citi credit card and another 2% for Costco executive members. Dunno if apple is excluded but probably not.
