Productivity is very subjective. Old school .exes, you're better off with Windows, but if you're not living in the 90s, most things run in a browser these days.

Let's just put it this way. If you don't intend to abuse the system. Say if you saw an item that's few hundred dollars cheaper with in 90 days and you don't feel like price matching. Costco doesn't care. Also 90 days only applies to very specific electronics item. Everything else has up to a year I believe. Electronics has the shortest return window. In general, Costco just does not care. I have been people return half eaten cake.

There is currently no "dual booting" of Windows in the Apple Silicon Macs, and probably not for the foreseeable future due to the fact that you can't legally purchase a Windows ARM license. Granted, as with most things, it will come down to your workload. If you're talking about some standard apps and use cases, you'll be fine. Also, you should be aware that you can't run x86-64 Windows on Apple Silicon, only Windows ARM. Fortunately, Windows ARM comes with an x86-64 emulator built in to run non-ARM apps. This works in probably 98% of cases, though YMMV if you have one-off apps you need to run. It could also have a bit of a performance hit because you are running an application through two layers of virtualization/emulation. So try it out and see if it works for you.

I bought a used but flawless 1TB version with 10 core CPU and 16 core GPU for $1700 on OfferUp. 44 cycles on the battery and I can still buy AppleCare on it.

This is a phenomenal deal but check your local Craigslist/OfferUP/FB Marketplace first. You might get a better deal.

Yes, but CrossOver can run a lot of x86_64 apps on M1. I've successfully run both Guild Wars 2 and Lord of the Rings Online on my M1 Air. It can't run everything obviously, and not always well, but between the M1's power and CrossOver's translation abilities, you can do a lot.

True, CrossOver is another option in general. I use that in some cases too and it works quite well for many apps. It really comes down to what you are trying to run, as there are a number of apps I need for work that simply can't be done under CrossOver. Since the other person mentioned needing Windows for his work in the Gov sector, my assumption is they might have more restrictions on how things are accessed that could necessitate more of a VM of Windows versus virtualization. Personally, I used to use CrossOver a lot more before I bought Parallels. With Parallels' Coherence mode, where Windows apps run pretty much like native Apple apps, I've been using it less. Parallels is faster to load and works much better. Granted it's also a lot more expensive.

Great deal. Bought it in March for $1750 and BB gave me $450 for my M1 Mac Mini which was underpowered - so I was thrilled. Had it for 6 months and it's been excellent in every measure. Output to 2 4k monitors (with a Thunderbolt 3 dock) and it's taken over as my daily driver, relegating my iMac to secondary. I'm a programmer and just a heavy consumer of system resources in general yet have no problems. I don't game so can't speak to that though. But it's an excellent machine. Battery is fantastic. Screen is ridiculous. Can't find many or any faults.
