Productivity is very subjective. Old school .exes, you're better off with Windows, but if you're not living in the 90s, most things run in a browser these days.

Be warned though that the apple care will say 2 years but if you cancel total tech after the first year then AppleCare will be canceled also. In other words all protection plans that are purchased for free under total tech need ACTIVE total tech subscription.

Total tech was a no brained for me as I got 2 laptops for friends under my account (one being the MacBook above) and one for myself. All 3 have warranty (primarily accidental) for the price of 1.5. Likewise we are upgrading our phones this year so just going through Best Buy will give protection plans for those also.

that def worked out for you then also provides you with the better return policy free shipping and ive seen some good deals only for total tech stuff here before so thats nice

do you think they have a plan to protect the total tech plan? you know just incase best buy decides to abandon the whole program because they are losing too much money from it.

Be sure to sign into your Best Buy rewards account before applying (it should ask you again during the application process). The card number gets tied to your BB account from Citi and you can make the purchase. You only see what the last four digits of the card is but you can buy right away without it.

Make sure to turn off any credit freezes you may have too before the application.

yup that is exactly what he's saying. the performance jump from M1 to m2 will probably be 5-15% depending on use case. but pre-M1 to M1 is 300% on all use cases.

with that said this price is really really good. but it doesn't hurt to wait bit more til M2pro gets announced. old technology prices only go down as time goes on. these might be in the 1400$ when they announced M2pro.

Guess my question is burried in the posts, want to ask again for buying a Macbook for my college kid to ungrade his 2017 MBA. Should I go with this Bestbuy deal or buy him a MBA with m1 chip for $900 with $150 Apple gc, or even the MBA new m2 chip for $1100? Thanks for helping me make a final decision, I know very little about Apple stuff.

I have a 2011 MacBook Air that I use while sitting in my recliner, with the Air on a pillow on my lap. I am trying to figure out if this MacBook Pro, which is about a pound heavier, will feel too heavy on my lap. Anybody have any thoughts on this?

Many folks say that this Pro is better, because the two Airs you mentioned only have 8gb/256gb, which is pretty bare bones.
