Seems at least one retailer has been at this price over the last 2 months. Except for micro center at $780.

Not an Apple fanboy though I have had an iPhone forever. That being said, I find everything about this little macbook perfect. Performance, size for use and travel, battery life, build quality etc.

$150 more for a MBA M2 worth it?

If the M1 drops to $700 that would be great and a clear winner in the M1 vs M2 decision

Can't speak to the M2, but the M1 can handle everything I throw at it. I got it for ~$650 open box-excellent at BB like 6 months ago and I've loved every minute. My M1 iPad can handle viewing huge AutoCAD files where my iPhone 11 fails miserably. I don't suggest this machine for editing purposes, but for 90% of the world there is nothing you can't do on an M1.

I would say yes. I have the M2 and it's the best MacBook I've ever owned. Prefer it over Pro. The new camera is also great if you're doing video calls a lot.

In case I wasn't clear, I have both the M1 Air and M1 iPad Pro. I have never been so happy with any windows machines as I have these two. They are simply the best.

You have the 8gb variant ? I just need something to handle having 3 different streaming sources up at the same time on 2 4k monitors

Yes 8gb. I've never tried 3 streaming sources at the same time, can't guarantee you anything but it has never stuttered period.
