Got these on the 3000 for 2 deal at costco a while back. Wanted to keep one and sell one but ended up gifting the other to a family member. No regrets, blazing fast and laptop fan is so quiet and cool I wondered if they exists. Only thing I dislike is the weight, but that's only during I take it out or throwing it in my backpack.

To be fair, these were essentially 2 for $2700 back in January through Costco, so $1350 each. Just that you had to buy 2 of them, and had to be able to make use of a $500 Costco card, but that's easy enough for most of us.

That's actually not fair because it wasn't a MBP-specific deal. It was anything over $3000 at Costco. I know -- I bought 2 of them and got the Cash Card. In reality, rarely has the actual sale price (without jumping through hoops or being part of some select group) been below $1599.

Im so sick of this dumb misinformation. The SSD is faster for random iops and slower for sustained transmission. This means that it will perform better under the typical use case for the vast majority of people since most people dont spend all day moving large files around.

It's not misinformation that the base model M2 Pro SSD is slower than the base model M1 Pro. Whether or not it's noticeable in most real world usage is another discussion, but it wasn't cool for Apple to downgrade the spec on the newer model.
