You're mostly right. For the vast majority of users, there will be no noticeable difference between even a SATA SSD and the fastest Gen 5 NVME drive for regular use or gaming. For professional work (video editing, rendering, or loading massive spreadsheets) there will be a pretty substantial difference. Also, there's currently not much of a difference between DDR5 and the fastest DDR4 in things like gaming, that's because DDR5 is in it's infancy. Once the generation matures, much faster RAM will be developed. It's been like that for every previous generation. It's part of the early adopter tax.
Edit: I forgot to mention that once more games implement Direct Storage, there WILL be a noticeable difference between slower SSD's and faster ones. So far, only one game has full Direct Storage support (Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart), but most new games will support it pretty soon.
