confirmed. There wasn't any signage at my HD but buying the kit with the XC5.0 battery took off an extra $99 to make the battery free. Return value of the kit is $115 and the battery is $64.
Another deal to be had on the XC5.0 battery is to buy that with the 2 pack of the XC3.0 as the same deal applies. Returning the XC3.0s will get the XC5.0 down to $44.
looking for an impact driver for household use. are these tools overskilled?
This is perfect for house hold and professional like electrician or plumbing. Not for heavy duty like construction. It get you to m12 eco system and in my opinion best 12v eco system currently

Sorry, I disagree.
I built a 12x12 shed with this drill. The only thing I did not use the drill for was to drive 8in lag's from the top plates into the bottom of my trusses.
This had no issues with any other item I was doing... including drilling 6" lags into various stud packs.

Not saying it won't do it. It just won't do it fast enough compared to 18v+ line. As a construction part time helper for my uncle. Time is money and the 12v battery will drain quicker than 18v.

A word of caution, I got the kit but when I went to return it, the customer service guy looked at it and said that free batteries have no value and cannot be returned.
