what settings do you use? I tried using BetterDisplay but it hasn't solved the problem
Great question, I know I found a reddit thread or a blog post about it and change whatever setting they recommended and it worked. If I figure it out, i'll post it here.

Mac users who are looking to pick these up will need to install BetterDisplay to prevent flickering in multi-monitor set ups. I've been running these for a few years now and would get the flicker on occasion. Since installing BetterDisplay, issue has gone away. All the reviews and even Dell website will say not compatible with mac due to this issue.
Didn't know this was an issue. I have two of these as part of 3 monitor macbook pro setup and haven't had that problem. They're connected via a Thunderbolt to Dual Displayport adapter. The 3rd (LG monitor) is via a USB Display Link adapter since I don't have the max chip that supports 3.

Mine is thunderbolt to dual HDMI. I'd have to look up what the issue was, I believe it was the refresh rate + resolution, can't recall. But whatever it was was solved by that reddit/blog post I found and it's been issue free since.

I got the S2722QC yesterday from the $157 deal recently. Haven't noticed any flicker or really any 'bad behavior' at all with both it (as the 'extended' display) and a Dell U3818DW connected to an M4 Mac Mini via USB-C. Pretty happy with it because it's way more screen real estate than the 24" 1080p it's replacing.

I'd read the flicker issue (if present) can be caused by having "true tone" enabled in the display settings, but there's conflicting information out there. Could be multiple causes. Glad I haven't run into it at any rate.

I believe only the 2721QC suffered from it.

A popular issue with the S2721QS is a lost of video when utilizing Displayport. The fix is to simply remove the power cable and then plug it back in. I spent hours troubleshooting this issue to no end and then one short internet search brought the solution.

If this happens often, I would try a higher quality DP cable. Especially for high bandwidth connections like 4k or high refresh rates this can be important, a low quality cable that works fine at FHD may occasionally cause issues.

Great idea. I am using the cable that came with the television currently. Thanks.
