You joke, but I see people on my local craigslist all the time that actually buy a bunch of electronics on sale and resell them for MSRP or maybe $5 cheaper. It blows my mind that people think others will buy full price from them rather than a store for the same price and ability to return.

Go queue up at the DMV, anytime somebody comes in that doesn't look poor offer to sell them a ticket that's close to being called for 20 bucks. You'll make several hundred in a day.

Heck I would pay 50 for a 10 minute wait.

If the web site accepts orders for same day pickup, then you have a chance. However, in my experience, the WM employees will cancel the order (we could not find it!) if they want to hide the item in the back room and not release it at the moment. And this is the very case you are describing: stock in WM system, but no physical stock found.

Well, there were several posts from a dude who was defending WM policies in this thread. So, the WM employees are at least aware of Brickseek. I do not know - how much they care. About anything. What I am saying - ignore the WM Clearance threads on SD: they are compromised with over-hype AND WILL NOT GET YOU ANYTHING..

I want to thank all those who have helped others. It has helped me save money on my tight budget. Even tho I have not asked a question,,I am at a loss on how you find the largest discounted items. i.e. HDTV 's

Say if you wanted to find a tv and see those with the greatest amount of discount, is there anywhere I can find this information so that I may educate my self on this? Remember Im an old man but I dont give up easy on learning new this.

I know about brickseek, and walmart sku's but how do you find the ones that are 80%++ discounted ??

You know what's even more of a joke? Store closing sales.

Back in the late 90's and early 00's I could go into a store that was closing on the last day or two and the shelves were 3/4's of the way full.

Now people act like 10-20% is the best deal ever and it's down to the bare walls by the time the final day arrives. I was just at a closing Kmart store(yes, they're still around...not for long though)today and people had cartloads of stuff they were buying. Like really? Scratchchin

Funniest 'sale' item was an old as shit 24" or so "Sceptre" brand TV that they must've dug out of the back of some warehouse that time forgot. It started out at $299.99 and is down to $180 or so as of the last time I jokingly scanned it. Ha ha

It's STILL there btw.

It all depends on how you go about trying to get the lower price. If you go into a store with the lower price and DEMAND to be given the difference then you deserve to be denied. But if you go in, just say you changed your mind and return the item(s) without another word then take a 20-30 minute walk around the store before trying to re-buy it then you shouldn't have an issue.

I really honestly think that everybody who is having such issues getting the lower prices are using a less than slick method(i.e. method #1 above) to try getting the lower price. As it stands these items are clearance and most(if not all) retailers do NOT price adjust clearance items. So even getting the re-buy is a big YMMV. But if it's done right it should be nearly no problem at all. People just need to learn to use a little finesse and be more slick and less impatient and demanding.

I've had NO problems getting MULTIPLE deals that involved a return and re-buy and I'll admit I can be a pretty big asshole at times when it comes to deals. But when I'm trying for a limited quantity, low price deal like these I'm super courteous and sugary sweet with lotsa pleases and thank yous.

Finally, a little bit of advice....they're called paragraphs. Please use them as not everybody wants to read a wall o' text. Wink

I know this has probably been asked several times but I just signed up for a Discover card.

Could I purchase a tablet at a WM for a higher price and then turn in a Discover price protection for the same item at a lower price at another WM?

One store near me shows 2 tablets for a lower price but they can't find them - wondering if I could buy at another store and use Discover price protection from the store showing 2...

Sounds like someone is just sour he can't get any deals.

Buying at one store and trying to get an adjustment from a clearance store has never been a particularly effective strategy. CheapestGamer can continue go on in these threads about how to be courteous and subtle, but Walmart's policies are killing it off either way, as you noted by the fact that many stores' systems won't even let you return full price items at clearance stores, for example.

You want to score some of these deals? Find them before they get posted to SD because you can bet that there are plenty of people hunting the same deals you are, be it other SDers or people from brickseek forums, Facebook groups, etc.
