How to File a Price Protection Claim

You can file a Price Protection claim by by contacting Discover at 1-800-DISCOVER (1-800-347-2683). You have 90 days from the date of purchase to file a claim, and then you have another 30 days from that date to submit the required documentation. These documents include:

A completed and signed claim form
Your Discover card statement showing the original purchase price
The sales receipt for the item
A copy of a dated, printed lower-price ad. And if the item doesn't appear in an advertisement, you can submit a signed statement from a store manager on store stationery, documenting the lower price.
After you have submitted the required documents, your reimbursement check will be mailed to you within 15 days.

OK, since I seem to be the only helpful one in this thread and I assume there are more people like me who are asking these types of questions, I took an hour out of my day to find my answer... "Like a big boy". The answer was not found in the wiki, within the first 15 pages, or within this entire thread, so all of the trolls in here, please hold your comments and I suggest you read through this thread to prove me wrong.

With that said, here is the Discover PP process that I will be posting to the wiki:

1) Purchase the item in full on your Discover Card using walmart.com. You can purchase in store, but people claim better success with purchasing through walmart.com.

2) Take a screenshot of your purchase and save your receipt as a PDF.

3) Take screenshot of the item with the price matching price along with the date. I personally just google "What day is it?" and put it side by side the website so the full page has the item, price, and date. You can do this from a computer using walmart.com or phone using the walmart app. DO NOT attempt to use brickseek for price matching. You must find a lower price for the item in walmart.com or the walmart app.

4) Wait until the payment on your Discover card goes from "Pending" to cleared.

5) Log into your account and click on "Activity and Payments" then click on "Recent Payment"

6) Click on "Save to PDF"

7) Call this number: 1-800-638-8312 its a direct line to Discover PP

8) Once you have finished that you will get an email that has the process for filing it. This is where you would put your screenshot of the price match, your recent statement, and receipt or screenshot of your purchase.

9) You add all of those items and you wait a few days for someone to check it and it will either be approved or denied. If everything goes smoothly it will approve you wait a few move days and it will switch to "Paid" and before you know it a check will come in the mail.

Please let me know if this needs corrections... I have not tried it yet.

I don't mean to mess with him, but don't treat him like he's something special. It's not that hard to do what he's doing. In fact you can find probably the same "script" he's using on the web. A simple web search brought up multiple hotkey scripts. I'd post it here, but I don't know if that is allowed on these forums. I don't mind running the script for anyone for free either.

Thank you for the kind response. I'm sure running a script for Walmart prices is fairly easy if you know how (I don't). My point is that very few people are providing price searches for free to complete strangers on Slickdeals. Why bite the hand that feeds you. hug

p.s. If anyone wants to email their script to me, I have the time and would be glad to assist others in price searches.

Correction here.
There are certain items I do for free.
Certain items with possibly extreme low prices, they aren't free.
Some people are expecting spoon feed. I don't want these people to benefit from not doing any work. I have almost stop posting low price, but moving to pm only.

I have made a few friends here with email exchanges and /or text messages (you know who you are!). I even shipped out items at cost (sometimes at a % of margin) for friends that they couldn't get their hands on from their local stores. Likewise for those who have shipped items to me at cost (or small margin). Let's keep up the partnerships.

Agree with my comment or not, it's up to you. At the end of the day, it's your knowledge, not mine.
