I don't think Discover is necessarily being slow on purpose. I know about a year ago they changed the process a little so it required two people to review it, but since then I've still had times where things were approved in less than 48 hours (and likewise, others than took 2 weeks).

I recently used their Return Guarantee on an item, and it still took them almost 2 weeks to approve my refund after the item showed as delivered to them (and I'm still waiting on the check). They would have no reason to delay that since nothing was time critical or sketchy.

I know the SD paranoia and pitchforks come out easily, and with good reason given what we're doing, but I imagine they have a pretty small operation there and can only process so much.

It is summer and people do take vacations. I doubt they have a team of 50+ people reviewing DPP claims.

Some of us are claiming price protection from the same store at the same price. If they already verified the price for one and approved it, they should note that in the computer so when other employees look it up, they should process the claims faster if it is from the same store and price. I don't understand the point of calling to verify the price. Sometimes the lower price only last for a few minutes and change to higher price. When they call to verify the price, the retail representative might not even know if they price went lower since they may only know how to check the current price; however, when we took the SS, we are able to get that lower price at that moment.

Pretty much. Call them up, get your online claim form, submit purchase details, and mail the item to them. You have to pay for shipping and they don't refund tax, etc.

Something I'd like to know though, and I'm sure I could just call Discover and ask, is if the $2500 yearly cap is shared between PP and RG. Both have the same $500/$2500 limits, not sure if they're separate buckets though.

Thanks to xlxllxlx, I was able to get a few Canary Cams claimed for $25 each. It took exactly a week (including the weekend).

If you were one of the few who seen the even lower price awhile back ago, I wouldn't recommend trying that zip if it's still in the system. They would not approve me with two different submissions or a phone call. However, someone PM'd saying they were approved for one, but I'm pretty sure they just got lucky.

The thing all the folks doing the price protection claims are forgetting is that that program is IN CASE you find a lower price after buying an item. So I could see Discover eventually limiting the amount per year, per person or even limiting how long you can file for one for.

That's likely why we're seeing some people having their cards cancelled and such now, since the company is seeing the pattern of people buying stuff and then almost immediately filing for $X back and sometimes on MULTIPLES of the same items.

People are having their cards canceled? I've been out of the loop a bit, but I haven't seen that!

Folks, due to the amount of pm I received everyday asking for low price and some of you have not pay me for the agreed service (excuses ranging from not getting paid to need more info to berify price to need to provide additional info on the credit received. These are not my problem, you folk up your own claim, that's your own problem). I have decided not to provide it anymore,
