I bought this last night for $1799 at Best Buy and thankfully they were able to price adjust and refund me $200.

The timing of this could not be more perfect especially starting school in the fall and in need of a new laptop.

Tax free weekend in NJ so I'm saving like $100+ in taxes.

Plus BB sent me a promo email for 10% back if I use my BB Citi Card by 8/29 (about $160 cash rewards)

And another email if I spend $250, I get $25 bonus reward points!

Is 512GB sufficient for dual-booting/Windows emulation? I'm looking to move to MacBook, but still need Windows for government stuff and don't want to lug around two laptops.
You can't run windows with the new m1 chip, only the legacy intel processor.

Trust me it's way worth it.

For $270 your're getting double the ram and storage (with way faster ssd performance due to going from one 256gb chip to two), considerably better screen and audio, better build quality and useful ports. No contest for me.
The battery life isn't good on the MBP 14" compared to the MBA M2. I'm using the MBP 14" and it gets 6.5 hours at full brightness just watching YT and having 10 Safari tabs open.

..plus the it's not as portable.

I think MBA is for majority of people. Apple just made the decision to buy it because they increased the price by $200 and the only way you can buy the specced out models is directly from Apple. I prefer the MBA m2.

You can run Windows 11 Arm with Parallels on M1.

Better screen (mini led), speaker, active cooling at the cost of heavier and thicker vs thinner and lighter (worst screen and sound). The built quality is better on the Pro for sure. Really up to what you do with it. I went with M2, because I already have a Mac mini hooked up to a huge ass monitor.
Other factors are 120hz ProMotion vs 60hz, more ports vs dongle life, newer media engine supports additional codecs vs previous gen media engine.

Run half brightness and use low power mode to get more out of the 14.

But if you absolutely need lightest, slimmest, and longest running on battery get an Air. M1 for $800 if you don't need the better screen on M2, nor the next gen media encoder gains.

If in store pick up works, and you plan to be out there anyway, within the max days allowed to pick up, tat. Might be an option.
