Some people stopped buying from newegg after a few issues they had. So that deal might as well not exist. I wish microcenter was everywhere lol.
tried to upgrade to 5800x from 2700 that on MSI B450M board. latest firmware and everything (5800 is on the supported list). put in the new processor. ram error (1 long beep and 2 short beep), CPU error, no display. flash bios 3 times, reset bios battery. swapped 3 sets of ram (known good ones, and B-Die ram). no go, cannot even go to BIOS menu.
swap back the old CPU, all good.
so ya.. pretty hard to tell if you get a dud. no question return is worth it.
