Don't think this will go any further than this. This is still a great price.

Got one of these late last year at the same price and it has been a fantastic laptop. It never gets warmer than ambient temps when running normal workloads, which is easy to take for granted until I switch over to a Windows laptop for work. The screen, touchpad, hinge, and build quality are top notch. It just screams quality. The battery life is phenominal as well.

I recommend these to everyone I know who's looking for a laptop and isn't picky about the OS. If you're on the fence, I say grab one of these before they stop selling them or you'll be stuck with the overpriced M2 model with the nerfed half-speed base storage compared to this.

Absolute clown posts. I just installed Monterey on a 2011 Macbook Pro via OCLP and I can do far more than write documents on it. The M1 in OP is 9 years newer. There's this weird trend on SlickDeals to act like any computer that has been replaced instantly turns into a paperweight.

Agree this is a fantastic laptop. I replaced a 2017 MBP with the 2020 Air M1 16gb ($899 deal at Connection). Very happy with the build quality, this is the same quality as MBP of the past, not some cheap Air laptop.

These fools are clearly Windows elitist who can't imagine that an SOC could actually be powerful. I have this exact M1 Macbook Air and it runs circles around my completely maxed out 15" 2016 MacBook Pro. Yes, IO is lacking (especially magsafe 3) and you can only connect one external monitor. But as someone who works with Windows machines 50 hours a week and has built computers since he was 15 years old, I can see the power of Apple's SOCs for more than a word processing or web browsing machine.

But it's NOT a hot deal. I'd rather get it from Costco when it's on sale at this price. Also I got this like a year ago or so from best buy - open box, excellent for < $700. So now, it's not a GREAT price.

This was my first Macbook and while I still generally dislike OS X, I have to admit the battery life, screen, touchpad, and portability are all top notch even compared to the Thinkpads that I used before. The only real issue is 8 GB/256 drive was/is a joke and is so like Apple .
