It's worth $600 alone for DIRAC alone, which is typically a $300 license. So you're getting a 9.2 receiver for $300, and the best auto calibration software in the market. Anyone with an entry level Yamaha or Denon should be jumping on this.

Me too. I have a nice 300 watt per channel Bryston power amp for the main front channels. Too bad is doesn't because it sounds like a great deal.

I have a 3.1 system (HSU bookshelf and center channel HB1 and HC1) with an SVS-SB1000 running off a Marantz NR1403. I got rid of my TV so all I do is AirPlay Music to it and love listening to music on this system. I'd like to keep the center channel if possible. What is a good amp to power this? I figure this Onkyo will suffice but I'm not using any of the Dolby or DTS decode features and definitely not more than 1 input (AirPlay).

Any recommendations?

Anyone have experience with 2 channel amps? I only run 2 channel and have a Harman AVR1710 currently. The ARC doesn't work properly with the newer TV so its a small hassle running 2 remotes. I rather the TV just handle the volume.

Are the newer amps going to sound the same or better.

what you are looking for with multiple pre-outs for subwoofers is individual control over each pre-out, which afaik this receiver does not have... also relevant: "...the Onkyo implementation does not include the standalone Dirac Live Bass Control feature, which can integrate multiple subwoofers"

as i understand it, a 9.2 receiver with 11.2 processing would have pre-outs that allow you to use a separate amp to get the extra two channels, don't know if you can do that with this receiver.

Thank you! Just recently upgraded the blu-ray player to the Panasonic 820 and needed to do the same for my receiver to get that 4K@60 pass through. Been an Onkyo fan for a while and it's time to move the old TX-NR3007 to a new room in the house. Repped.
