This is one of those tools that once you have it, you're so glad you own it. It's been one of my most used and favorite tools.
As always, SD rocks. Thanks, OP.
Missed the last time when it was $99 and SDers wisely advised to just hang in there because it rolls around occasionally. Bought from HD shipped free just in case I want to return it ,(not likely, but things can change).

Man, I was looking to buy a portable cutting tool but I'm not sure if this would be able to handle something as thick as 2x4. I know this tool is great for drywall and things of that nature.

Actually just found a skilsaw circular saw on sale for 80$ with battery on amazon. The dewalt equivalent is 100+ without the battery

Nah the HD one came with the 1.5ah battery….

The Atomic version comes with the 3ah battery. Looked the same though.

Same price for Milwaukee minus the bag
The Milwaukee version is not nearly as good IMHO. The handle is too thick and it doesn't have the variable speed paddle trigger which is much nicer. I am all Milwaukee tools but I bought this one because I've been waiting for years for Milwaukee to upgrade their multi tool to no avail. This is the best cordless multi tool around and this price is about as good as it gets.

Is the Milwaukee M18 (not fuel) a better tool?
I don't believe it is. I'm all Milwaukee but I got this exact deal because I used my buddy's DeWalt multi tool and loved it. The Milwaukee one has a very thick handle (too thick IMO) compared to the DeWalt and the variable speed paddle trigger on the DeWalt is much better.

Are you referring to a non fuel or fuel version?

I got Atomic one from Home Depot for $100 with 3Ah battery two days ago and have been using that. Didn't need a charger not a bag, but wanted a larger battery which seemed a better deal for me. Atomic has a plastic quick release lever. Love the tool so far. I don't see a need for speed selector, the variable trigger allows for a slow start and gives a good control. I personally don't see using the speed selector switch. I like a rather large blade amplitude without shaking the tool much, this is definitely an improvement over some cheapo corded one. Both deals are solid, I just valued a larger battery more.

What do you use it for? The reason I don't own one is because I can't figure out what I would use it for! Dying to get one tho haha

Nothing is better for cutting drywall. Also great for cutting off nails and screws, other metals, wood, tile, grout, also light sanding.

And if you're a medical examiner, it's great for cutting through bone without damaging tissue. Particularly for cutting the skull without cutting the brain. No joke.

I have both this DeWalt and the 18V Bosch oscillating tool. The Bosch is the more superior tool IMO because the Bosch does a much better job of absorbing the vibration (e.g. your hands won't go numb, and thereby, you have more control because the tool is not vibrating like crazy).

Picked up the clearance atomic xr oscillating + 2ah battery deal from couple weeks ago. Absolutely no idea what the difference is between max xr and atomic and xr so dunno how it compares. But loves these machines. Dunno how I went so long without one.

Atomic is a little smaller and a little less powerful, MAX XR is a little bigger and more powerful. The differences are not huge. Regular XR has a brushed motor and the other 2 are brushless

I bought this set couple months back and lost the tool . Then I bought corded one and I am so happy with it. Battery dies in the middle of the job and way less powerful than corded one. I highly recommend buying corded one if you dont mind the cable.
