The ergonomics on these are the worst. The drill grip is thicker than the m18 fuel version. One would think that being an m12 would be a smaller drill, more compact in all aspects, it is compact in most aspects but for some reasons the designers thought that it would be a good idea to make the pistol grip thicker.

Used the hammer drill to put mounting holes into solid mortar for a security cam. Took a while to drill the holes, but it did the job in the end. Def a solid little hammer drill good for house stuff. I'm not a professional, but I can see it doing almost everything.

Because the batteries go into the handle. allowing the tool to have smaller dimension and fit in place where bigger tools won't. Other 12v brand have the same battery as 18v. It's not as compact.

confirmed. There wasn't any signage at my HD but buying the kit with the XC5.0 battery took off an extra $99 to make the battery free. Return value of the kit is $115 and the battery is $64.

Another deal to be had on the XC5.0 battery is to buy that with the 2 pack of the XC3.0 as the same deal applies. Returning the XC3.0s will get the XC5.0 down to $44.
I can't seem to duplicate that at all.

I'll post an update when I attempt to return it later today or tomorrow. I think it would be hard from them to argue not returning it when it's in black in white "MAX REFUND VALVE $63.74" right on the receipt.
Thanks keep us posted

Any benefit to getting this if I already have the m12 installation driver?
Here are some situations where it could make sense:
1. If you need a second drill for mixed drilling/driving usage (ie: pilot holes).
2. If you don't already have an impact and don't mind selling off the other stuff.
3. If you need more batteries and don't mind selling off the other stuff.

From a drilling standpoint I'd say that the installation driver is mostly interchangable with the drill unless you use it heavily (ie tens of 1/2 in+ holes in sequence without breaks in between), or are a frequent user of small tapcons (and thus need the hammer function).

Not saying it won't do it. It just won't do it fast enough compared to 18v+ line. As a construction part time helper for my uncle. Time is money and the 12v battery will drain quicker than 18v.
Keep in mind 18V drill weighs 1lb more then it's 12V counterpart. That is without calculating the battery weight.

I much prefer the m12 on a construction site when im climbing ladders or in tight spaces. The surge impage m12 is amazing. If Im on a bench all day I take m18 for sure.

1lb makes a huge difference in tools when you have to hold that tool all day long or drill 1000 screws. 12v batteries are also lighter than 18v ones. The whole reason companies make 12v for smaller sizes and also lighter tools. But more importantly, it's small enough for smaller projects and compact to go into places that big tools might struggle with.

I have both 18v and 12v. I grabbed for 12v most of the time and only when it struggled then I go for 18v. But in my opinion, the Bosch 12v 5-in-1 Flexiclick system is what I use the most at home. I bought that one for my wife and I ended up using it the most when I needed to do quick drilling or hanging something.

The advertising sign at my store to get this deal showed it was 229 for the kit. But on the tool kit themselves, they're still marked at 179 so it did work getting the five amp hour battery for free like everyone else said.

I haven't tried to return the battery. Kind of hesitant to do so. I just really want that fuel ratchet too.
