Well not everyone is making their living cutting wood. For a hobbyist, this is fantastic. Woodworking isn't my #1 hobby, but I need to make some of these cuts more accurately than I can eyeballing it or with a slightly crooked board clamped down. For more money, I could gain a slight amount of theoretical accuracy (which my imperfect measuring will probably render moot) OR use that money for additional tools OR my other hobbies. I love my Kreg ripcut, but it fails when your work piece is too narrow or small and I lack a work bench to clamp to (again, cause this isn't how I make a living nor my primary hobby).
I bought this exact table saw from Zoro back when they had 35% off with Chase Offers. I did a lot of research and wanted a table saw to rip and use to build furniture. This table saw is NOT a SawStop or upper level Delta table saw for fine woodworking. On the other hand, I absolutely love this saw. I'm always hesitant when buying Chinese made products but this is a well built table saw and I have had no problems setting the fence or making straight cuts with it. I would highly, highly recommend this saw for the average every day user and personally I like it over the Dewalt 8-1/4" due to the fact that it comes with fold out legs, uses a 10" blade, and can accept a dado stack. I will say that the build quality on the Dewalt 8-1/4" seems to be an improvement on the Skil (having seen one in store at Home Depot) but for my money, the Skil was a better choice. I have not had a single problem with this saw bogging down or not providing enough power.
My biggest complaint for this saw is that it is LOUD but that is not a big deal to me. It also doesn't feel as solid as the Dewalt 8-1/4" saw. Nonetheless, it provides more than enough power, accepts a dado stack (you can find the dado throat plate on Amazon now), is well built, cuts straight, has a relatively (though not perfectly) straight table surface (on mine), and comes with an excellent warranty. This isn't the same Skil quality from a few years ago when Bosch ran it into the ground. Chervon is actually doing great things with the brand and this table saw is representative of that.

Best $300 saw according to this review[protoolreviews.com] at Protool Reviews.
That also seems to mean the $300 is the regular price though.
When it's in stock at Lowe's, that's always the price. This model was in short supply throughout most of the pandemic, so I opted for the little Ridgid 10 inch for $250.
My concern with this Skil is the relatively narrow left and right cut capacity, and the Ridgid meets my minimum criteria. But I'm still intrigued with this Skil.
Got this from Mendards shortly after it came out for $299. Used it a few times. Put a Diablo 60T blade on. Cuts plywood and pine amazingly well. Was about to spend $599 from the big Dewalt despite being a tool I might make 40 cuts. Easy to square up, but might not even be necessary. Look forward to lumber prices falling back to a point we can do some projects that were on pause so I can use this and other tools again!

I'm amazed so many people like this saw...
Pros: it can do a Dado, it has a great motor, and it has cool features (like all the Skil items seem to be upgrading lately).
Cons: Tolerances are really poor, it has quite a bit of play to it. the surface is wonky and often warps.
I like the ideas Skil has been creating, but their execution, and precision are why this saw is $300.
if you need a table saw for 1, or 2 jobs, then it's great.

I bought this saw last year shortly after it was released on Amazon for this exact price.
I did do a decent amount of research and chose this for a few reasons:
1. ability to use a dado stack
2. larger rip capacity (25.5") than other models in this price point
3. rack and pinion fence
4. 4x4 cutting ability
So far so good as I haven't had any major issues. My two main problems are fairly minor. The tabletop is a thinner aluminum and I don't always get a smooth push on my workpieces - something a bit of paste wax can probably fix. The folding legs do seem flimsy and leave a lot to be desired. Somewhere on my project list I'm going to integrate this into my mobile worktable, so the leg problem can be fixed.

Then a great deal comes up and I get excited about it.... and you just shoot it down with all these lack of quality facts.
