Productivity is very subjective. Old school .exes, you're better off with Windows, but if you're not living in the 90s, most things run in a browser these days.

16gb vs 8gb
512gb vs 256
14" vs 13"
heavier vs lighter
More power vs less
Its up to you as the user to decide whether or not its worth it. Just remember that laptops stay as you buy them. So typically would not recoomend a 8gb laptop. Yes, Apple does well with 8gb, but I still prefer 16gb. Drive space on the other hand, is a bit different, as many have external ssd's they use, which are far cheaper than you would pay buying from Apple.

But i found out theres third party paid apps that lets you use full 1000+nits and wow its crazy how bright this screen can get. (better display app)

1. $1470 - 8core M1Pro, 16GB, 512gb SSD (base model)
2. $1700 - 10core M1Pro, 16GB, 1tb SSD
I went to do an in-store pickup for #2, but it was out of stock. I looked in the open box case and they had the 10-core/1tb model for $2000, plus a sign saying additional 15% off open box, so I got it for $1700.
Both have less than 3 battery cycle count and warranty through July 2023. (11-months)
Worth the extra $230?
I'll be returning the $1470 open-box base model this week to a Nashville area Best Buy. It is in mint conditon with only 3 battery cycles and Apple warranty through July 23, 2023.
If any SD'ers want it instead, shoot me a PM.
Can this MacBook be purchased online - either via Costco or BestBuy - from an individual in another state (not NJ) but shipped to a NJ address ... Costco/BestBuy ships it directly to a NJ address.
Would that purchase qualify for no tax needing to be paid since it's delivery destination is NJ?
