The 5800X3D is the last AM4 CPU. It's a no-brainer at this price if you've already got an AM4 motherboard (or if you want to keep things as cheap as possible) but if if you're going to buy a new motherboard anyway you will probably be better off with the 7700x/AM5/DDR5 or whatever the equivalent Intel chip is right now.

For anyone who got this, definitely look into undervolting this CPU with pbo2 tuner. I am normally someone who likes to leave their chips at stock everything but this chip is the warmest chip I've ever owned. Even with a Deepcool AK620 it is hitting 90c+ under benchmarks. Undervolting significantly improved that and also provided higher performance.
