This should be considered the real price with how much these go on sale. Also, if you are a little bit patient you can get much better deals on laptops with better specs regarding RAM and storage. However, the ARM chips in the macbooks are impressive and give long battery life. I also really love their nice screens when I see them in the wild.

Many folks want to have a Mac specifically and will sacrifice specs for them..

You know, this posting is for the 7 core GPU model, not the other model you are referring to. 'Why would I reference a model irrelevant to this post? This is to provide awareness to an error in case someone might decide to buy based on that detail.'

Really only 8gb, that is the best you can do Apple with a 3 year old $750 laptop with cheaper in house processor. Come on !

Better specs…RAM and Storage doesn't help you edit ProRes 8K video on a windows laptop at the same price.
