It's not left over stock, it's a strategic move between Apple and Walmart: https://corporate.walmart.com/new...ts-shelves

It's not $750. It's $900 w/ a $150 gift card. There's a difference.

Y'all acting like this laptop is paperweight just because it's 3 years old. Name a $700 Windows laptop that can match this in build quality and battery life...

I'd argue that the main issue is having only 8GB of RAM in 2024.
I agree with this in principle but for a 13-inch laptop, it isn't going to be doing hardcore video editing for most people. Someone that needs more than basic computing and internet stuff will do better with a larger machine for sure. The worst thing though is that the RAM can't be upgraded in many new laptops.

Asus zenbook. Way better screen, more storage, more RAM, more ports. I regret not getting it and getting a $1400 MacBook Air m2.

If you're talking about the Zenbook 14x with the 16gb/512gb/i7 config, I'll be happy to give you mine. Unless you actually own and use one, you won't realize how problematic that thing is.

I own one, bought it the day before yesterday, the i5 version and the screen itself is so much better. I have 5 laptops between home and work and MacBook is probably number 3 in the ranking. That being said, lots of it has to do with how glitchy and buggy MacBook is.

I think it's awesome that Walmart is officially selling Apple products. Lately I've been preferring them over Amazon.

Agreed. The screen looks very nice with great color saturation, but my i7 configuration has numerous drawbacks:
  • Battery is below average
  • Touchscreen is often unresponsive or lags (well documented online)
  • It gets hot and throttles if you look at it wrong
  • Gaming performance is poor given the specs
  • The fan is hysterically loud
  • The number keypad in the trackpad can be accidentally activated far too easily
  • It's way too heavy to be an ultra-portable
Everyone's use case varies, but undoubtedly, Macbook Air trounces the Asus in battery life, portability, quietness, and support.

Right. But it has a much better display - OLED touchscreen -; twice the RAM; twice the HD capacity. All of which you decided not to mention....
Then 4-5 hours is good depending on your use case. The screen is awful on airs and you need an iPad if you want to write notes or draw

these are amazing, I was never a apple fan boy but they blow most windows laptop out of the water. 3 years I have it my battery is at 98%, don't be alarmed with the 8GB, it's plenty of memory for everyday use including the occasional light video editing

They are still doing so, cause people still think it's a great deal! Why? Because of a $50 discount!

I would look at it this way: For $700, is the laptop configuration good for atleast the next 5-6 years? For me, unfortunately it already seems outdated. I don't care if just the battery life is great. What's not great is the ram, the disk space, etc.
For you, totally understandable. for 95% of the population? an excellent value.

The people generally buy a 8gb MacBook Air doesn't need those specs.

Idk about everyone else but this is still the perfect laptop to recommend for parents, college students who just need a browser (no editing/coding), general web browsing.
Programming on this thing is actually just fine.

If you wait till June Apple Back to school sale with happen, and M2 MacBook Air will be 750$

They ask for no verification that you are an student

It's -100$ of normal price of MacBook and the include 150$ gift card, making the total around 750.
Just because the one hung over college kid you got didn't verify doesn't mean the actual professionals in the store won't when someone else goes to buy
