Our community has rated this post as helpful. If you agree, why not thank kifbunk
- Battery is below average
- Touchscreen is often unresponsive or lags (well documented online)
- It gets hot and throttles if you look at it wrong
- Gaming performance is poor given the specs
- The fan is hysterically loud
- The number keypad in the trackpad can be accidentally activated far too easily
- It's way too heavy to be an ultra-portable
Everyone's use case varies, but undoubtedly, Macbook Air trounces the Asus in battery life, portability, quietness, and support.Sign up for a Slickdeals account to remove this ad.
I would look at it this way: For $700, is the laptop configuration good for atleast the next 5-6 years? For me, unfortunately it already seems outdated. I don't care if just the battery life is great. What's not great is the ram, the disk space, etc.
Idk about everyone else but this is still the perfect laptop to recommend for parents, college students who just need a browser (no editing/coding), general web browsing.
