And yes, i'm an apple fanboy, if you think that's some sort of dig go fly a kite. The apple silicon machines run circles around anything remotely close to it from the windows side. Go watch the reviews and come back when you're a bit more educated (which you won't, so just stay away).
Glad you agree with me.
"256gb is just 32gb? WTF?"
256gb / 8 = 32GB. Hope you learn something.

Oh really? The usual things people boost about is battery life (non MACs also have similar battery life) and video editing.
But tell me, how do I edit 4K raw video with just 8GB ram and 256GB storage? You have any clue how big RAW video files are? 4GB/min. So I cannot even import one hour of video to edit.
Paging is when it gets written to disk/SSD. You are completely clueless.

My point is that with paging, you can deal with larger memory models than the physical RAM can handle. So yes, if your program mallocs() 16GB, and there is enough swap space, you won't get a fault.

256gb/8 = 32gb means what? Nothing.
And if you're editing 4k raw video, YOU'RE NOT BUYING A 256GB STORAGE/8GB RAM MACHINE. I said the apple silicon machines run circles, not THIS one specifically, though find a similarly spec'd machine and i'm still sure the air blows it out of the water. there are countless tech reviews online about this, go find any of them and educate yourself.

once again, if I can fit all 16GB into RAM, why would I want it to go to paging? As in, why buy such shitty machine with just 8GB when you can easily get one with 16GB?

Go read back on my previous post. That asus with windows is far more superior than this shitty mac.
