I tried that multiple times, and walmart refuse to sell me the online returned items.
they says that once the online item is returned, we have to send that back to the online walmart store, this store can't sell the online return item period.
I have an argument with the manager on that as well, but he told me the same story that it is the policy.

If selling me an item at 75% off, but having to pay tax on the original price is considered being screwed, then I'll gladly let them.

Simple way? That method has little to no success. When they look up your order # for pick up, it will show cancelled. Most times they tell you its going to get shipped back to the warehouse and you cannot purchase because its a .com order. Or, on the ultra rare occasion (not worth the hassle) they ring you up at the counter and see the huge price difference, they find some reason to deny the purchase. Then you have to involve other employees or mangers.

I think you misunderstood the issue. The tax issue is only with items which
are in stock in the store you want to do pick-up at (so the item is not shipped to the store
from Walmart.com). There is no problem to cancel the on-line order and buy the item
from the store in such situation (especially when you explain to them the tax issue, as
the system automatically refunds you the difference in price at the time of pickup
but does not refund the over-payed tax). When the item is actually shipped to the store by
Walmart.com returning and rebuying for the lower price may be not allowed (depending on
the store) but there is no tax issue in this case.

God, all you people complaining about "ruining clearance" at WalMart is ridiculous. WalMart is not Best Buy, Target, etc. They are never going to stop putting shit on clearance in order to free up shelf and backroom space. WalMart is ran by a bunch of morons top-down. 3rd shift IMS workers are morons and half-ass their jobs resulting in shit staying in the backroom for months. The IMS workers are supposed to keep everything in the back on the shelves, but they don't.

They are ALWAYS going to clearance shit out in order to bring in newer models and different products. Shelf & Backroom space is more important when it comes to profits.

Now while us "SDers" can ruin specific store prices, this has nothing to do with WalMart as a whole. More likely, it's a CSM or another type of manager that's tired of taking Discover related calls and delete the shit from the system, since they're lazy and don't wanna work period. WalMart is getting their money and clearing out space.

Thing is for a looooong time Walmart considered $.10 off MSRP to be a 'clearance' price. It's why I ignored them for such things for a very long time. Many of my local WM stores had games from 3-4 gens ago still coming up at their MSRP($40-50) or close even while current gen stuff took over their spots. The one WM store in particular had a bin loaded to the top with such titles that would make the average deal hunter laugh at how absurdly priced they were.

But the money they get from corporate to allocate to markdowns usually has to be used in only those divisions it's earmarked for. The only thing hurting the possible future markdowns are people attempting to return/re-buy TONS of stuff to a store that already used up their allotted amounts.

LOL, they still do this crap. It's a PITA for me trying to browse around their website's "clearance" electronics section seeing near MSRP junk.

I was mainly commenting about all this recent tax related "ruining clearance" deals. In other threads, there's people complaining about "ruining clearance" deals when it comes to actually buying the item in-store AT the store that has the clearance price, LOL.

I only got my tax fixed on 2 orders that was around $20 tax back and they were orders that I used my pile of 7.5% to 10% discounted walmart gift cards on top of a cashback portal. I only ever do "pickup today" on clearance deals which I don't want to make a special trip, and I'm not too concerned whether the "employee steals the deal" or need the extended warranty. The tax difference wasn't worth the hassle to me to return/rebuy at the store so I just ate the tax, but sending an email was pretty painless to get it fixed.

sure I thought you talking about order online, then after few days you pickup then return and rebuy.

At least this is what I said the one time I ever tried a R/R. Granted, I didn't know then that I could have scanned the item into the system beforehand.

I'll be trying one here soon, but I've yet to try another R/R since, lol.

I'm afraid you're wasting your time asking for deals. Every Walmart clearance thread on SD quickly degenerates into a DPP thread, usually within a day or two of creation. I agree that there should be a separate Walmart DPP thread so as not to clutter the deal threads.
