I have one, and know plenty of people who do also; they are quite fantastic computers.

Apparently, it might a design flaw due to the lack of clearance between the screen and the keyboard. If you have a camera cover/keyboard cover, it is recommended you take it off prior to closing the laptop, which is annoying and defeats the purpose of having one if you have to put it on/take it off every time.
Having said that, no one really know why it happens and all this is speculation.
EDIT: here's a more detailed article about what to avoid doing - https://www.macworld.co
Thanks!

Thanks!
I am super impressed. These M1 machines (and in particular the MacBook Airs) are game changers.
At $850 there is nothing that can compete with it in the same "class" of devices. In fact I believe it to be in a class of its own.
It has a stunning screen, amazingly responsive touchpad, finger print reader, great feeling keyboard (I use ThinkPads), very light weight, cool to the touch, and completely silent. The entire machine is fan-less.
As a general computing device it's fantastic. So much so I'm extremely tempted to get one for myself.

Only when Apple does redesigns is something a true issue (butterfly keyboard fiasco)
