You do you bro. No need to come in the thread and explain yourself. Nobody buys a mac for gaming.

Productivity is very subjective. Old school .exes, you're better off with Windows, but if you're not living in the 90s, most things run in a browser these days.

You did excellent on that deal then. Me, I had a brand-new 2015 MacBook with screen spotting two years in and battery problems as well. Took extremely good care of it but had problems nonetheless. It's a tough choice, but this go-round I'm going to spend a little extra for new with cc extended warranty (especially at this discount).
A brand new 2019 Macbook that was used and only sporadically and very lightly, lived on a desk, never traveled, and was completely babied inexplicably died dead as a door nail about 5+/- months after the 1 year warranty expired. Logic board failure. No Applecare.

I's a crap shoot. Warranties are a good idea.

I sold mine (this exact version) on CL for $1600. Then bought the 14 inch MBA M2 in Midnight. I couldn't get the 16gb of RAM so settled on the 8gb and the 512 SSD.

Why did you downgrade to the 8/512 MBA-M2?

Yeah also curious here. The Pro 14 is a much faster and more capable machine, were you only looking for a little extra battery life?

Was the extra pound too heavy?

Needed the new midnight blue color?

For the love of god, can some third party retailer start selling an M2 Air with 16GB? I want the Air, but when there's a $20 difference to upgrade to the Pro you'd have to be an idiot to buy one with 16GB/512GB. I just want to get a sale price on a 16GB Air...

It's a different beast not a downgrade.

Much faster? M2 MBA is faster at single core CPU and only about 10% slower in multi core. Graphics isn't much difference either. And since he got the 512GB SSD that shouldn't be different. Biggest loss imo is the 8GB RAM vs 16GB.

Grabbed one, but might return it for the 16" since I am so used to my old 15.4". Costco's sale on the 16 runs for little while longer. I'd rather keep the $500 premium.

Just picked a 14 inch up. Might return this one and get a 16 inch. I have 60 days to return this 14 inch. If the price changes on the 16 inch within 60 days I'll keep the 14 inch.

So what's the better deal? Buying through Costco with Apple Care or through Best Buy and buying TotalTech membership. Looks like $20 cheaper with Best Buy, but is there a catch here I am missing?

You only have 14 day return for BBY, how could you get 60?
