That "sales tax doesn't auto adjust" thing is quite a nuisance. They owe me quite a bit of money for over 15 autoadjusted orders. We'll see if they can help at the email address someone posted a few pages back.

If you live in NY and the tax doesn't adjust report them to the AG it's probably illegal in this state.

It's mostly a state issue. I guess Walmart has compiled a list of states that require that when the price is adjusted, the sales tax is adjusted too, and keeps the tax in the other states. I very much doubt it that they remit the tax to state -- otherwise NO ONE will get their tax adjusted.

They lost a class-action suit 2-3 years ago in Ohio over sales tax differences, but that was over different rates in different jurisdictions. I suspect it won't be long before they get sued over this issue.

I do. I have not gotten much out of it yet. But it depends on the area you are in. My area seems to be one that gets the markdowns last, so by then everyone already knows about it, including the non paying members, and they have their alerts set to watch it. So buy the time it actually lowers in my area, nothing is in stock. Half the time they don't even let it get low enough for it to be that good of a deal before they buy it. I think because a lot of people do that Discover Price Protection thing. But I don't have discover.

I did it one time a few months back on a Tablet. I said I was not offered a warranty on it and wanted to return it, and rebuy it with the warranty. I asked if they could take it down to the register for me to checkout because I had to use the restroom and grab one other item. The girl was fine with it, but she had to get an override or something, and the other lady was acting like it was an issue. In the end it worked out, but they did not know the price it would ring up because I didn't rebuy it right there, I did it at a register. If they saw the price, I think they would have tried to stop me.

I've done it multiple times, both S to S and just one store to another manually. It worked a lot months ago, the last 3-4 times I have tried I have been flat out denied, or they check the price at the register (even when I ask them to take it to electronics so I can get accessories), etc.

It is a lot harder to do now, just FYI. I've been 0/4 on the last 4 and just stopped even trying anymore.

When you do s to s, do they charge your card immediately or when you pick up

immediately, so used a CC not debit unless you have a ton of cash to tie up haha

hopefully no one on SD isn't using CC for the points alone, though

Not trying to be a dick here just clarifying:

I'm pretty sure they actually charge your card once the order ships, either to store or to home. The initial pending transaction is just the authorization charge.

This really won't affect 95% of peoples' orders though since it usually takes around 5 business days for a pre-authorization to fall off anyways.

But if you're doing a DPP claim and WalMart is slow as hell to ship your item to the store or to your home, it's gonna be awhile before the charge is finalized and posts to your card. This is happened to me on a couple claims now where it took 8 days (including the weekend) to freakin ship my item to the store.

Also, if you're pre-ordering something the pre-authorization does fall off if it's more than 5 business days. The charge is only finalized and posted to your credit card after the order ships. I've heard that they might attempt a pre-authorization a few more times depending how long your pre-order is but I haven't ran into this yet.

idk about DoZey but after seeing the suggestion of using the email I sent an email with my order # for 2 prior times I got stiffed on the taxes. I explained how they were "pickup today" clearance items and that the item price auto-adjusted to the clearance price, since they were scanned from the stores local stock. I then explained how I still got charged the tax rate on the online's original price.

Email Sent: August 29th. Email Reply: August 30th.
I paid both orders with a walmart gift card so I received the refund to the walmart gift card 1 hour after the email reply. Credit card refunds are gonna take longer to post.
