It's not left over stock, it's a strategic move between Apple and Walmart: https://corporate.walmart.com/new...ts-shelves

It's not $750. It's $900 w/ a $150 gift card. There's a difference.

Y'all acting like this laptop is paperweight just because it's 3 years old. Name a $700 Windows laptop that can match this in build quality and battery life...

Wonderful casual/business machine.
It's all I use.
Can have multiple browsers open, remote session, word, excel, and never have an issue.
It's on the second you open it, and the battery lasts all day

much appreciated feedback. might just do this deal then. guess I can always upgrade a couple years later, worse case scenario
I think she will appreciate the weight and slim profile of the air. All other laptops like macbook pro in real life are heavy to haul and pickup from a desk and elevated edges might give one a hand/wrist cramps.

I use my air 95% of the time just because of the convenience and power it delivers even though i have more powerful macbook pro sitting next to it (work sponsored otherwise i was not looking to replace 3 year old m1 air).

How much of an upgrade is this over the latest Intel MBP with those specs:
2,3 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7
32 GB 3733 MHz LPDDR4X

I guess going down from 32GB RAM to 8GB means less tabs open and things like that?

It's amazing people are paying 70% MSRP for a 3.5 years old computer with an OS that's 10 years out of date. Bought the M1 Air when it released and used for 2 years in grad school. Good battery and screen but OS so out of date and clunky
And then you sold it for 70% of what you paid for it. Can't leave that part out.

I own this Asus. Even though it looks good on paper, it's not great. Battery life is subpar, it's heavy AF, and there are constant glitches with the touchscreen where touches on the display lag or won't register at all.
The worst laptop I ever bought was an Asus. Literally unusable.

I had great asus laptops but that was in 2005-2009, after that they kind of folded.

how. your saying your never gonna buy another apple product in your life?
if you say that then your either lying, or shouldn't be buying a MacBook
$150 and a $150 Apple gift card aren't the same thing at all. The easiest way to see this is to try to sell your gift card. You'll get around $110 from cardcash.com.

I own a Mac Air and previously owned a Pro. I've never bought any other Apple products and don't intend to either. Money has a time value, and I'm not interested in giving Apple my money today for a credit when I buy a new laptop in a year or two.

Nice find, looks like they are currently sold out.

I'm hoping this is still on in 7-10 days. Capital One has $200 off $500 spent in first 3 months for QuickSilver. Would bring this down to $450-500

Just because the one hung over college kid you got didn't verify doesn't mean the actual professionals in the store won't when someone else goes to buy
Have you actually done this or just talking without experience.

I've bought at least 15 Macs with EDU discounts and NEVER ever was asked to verify when I go do pick up at the stores. They DO NOT CARE.

3 Macbooks in the just the last 30 days... all EDU discounts, store pick up, no questions asked.

I am getting $300 for trading-in macbook pro mid 2017 (i7, 16 GB RAM , 512 GB storage) for this one. Is it worth it?

Probably a side-grade. One laptop will be better with processor-heavy tasks other ram-heavy.

I personally would not buy a macbook with less that 16gb ram. The performance drops off a cliff once apps start being more ram thirsty and it's not upgradable.

I'd argue that the main issue is having only 8GB of RAM in 2024.
Exactly. So ridiculous

ASUS Zenbook 14X: i7 13700H, 14.5" 2.8K OLED Touch, 16GB RAM
$700.

Now name an Apple laptop released in the past year that matches those specs for $700.
