Not sure if you're familiar with Apple refurbs but they look like brand new, just a different style box.
More efficient memory usage my rear. However. I still like the machine, I'll just be monitoring activity monitor. Bugs me a little that I can't be who I am on this machine and that I need to run with things closed, but… oh well I guess. Consumers we shall be.
I know plenty of people who would never buy anything from Apple Store, including me. And will not buy an Ipad, Iphone, or Airpods in the next few years. Not everyone is interested in Apple products, or spending lots of money on expensive consumer products.
But, all the best to you!
But I understand that not all people buy stuff from Apple, and thats OK. I must the say i like android phones like Oneplus 12R more than my iPhone 12
These are discontinued, but base m2 air and m3 don't offer much more

piece of garbage that I need to bring a charger constantly to get decent power and even when plugged in, it's not as snappy as M1 Air even with 8GB for browsing and video use.
Having more ram and more storage without battery power to run it for a long time is silly. I only plug in my macbook once a day because the battery will last for an all day use with 8-10 hours. I don't get 18 hours because I'm not just playing a video at 50% brightness.

What chips are affected, and how can this be fixed?
The researchers were able to successfully mount key recovery attacks on Apple hardware containing M1 processors, and found that base-model M2 and M3 Apple Silicon CPUs display similar exploitable behavior. Other Apple Silicon variants weren't tested.
Intel processors are at risk too, but less so, the team notes. "Intel's 13th Gen Raptor Lake microarchitecture also features a DMP. However, its activation criteria are more restrictive, making it robust to our attacks."
Go read back on my previous post. That asus with windows is far more superior than this shitty mac.
